BIOGRAPHY

Michael Kolman is an experienced litigator having tried approximately ten jury trials in addition to numerous bench trials. He has represented both employers and employees in cases involving sex, race, religion, and disability discrimination; sexual harassment; whistle blower; retaliation; and employer intentional tort in both state and federal courts. He tried one of the first sexual harassment cases and HIV discrimination cases in Central Ohio. He has also successfully represented clients before various administrative agencies including the Ohio Personnel Board of Review, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Unemployment Compensation, Municipal Civil Service Commissions, and pre-disciplinary hearings before state and county agencies. Michael has advised employers on human resources issues in order to avoid liability related to employment decisions.

Michael also has extensive experience handling a variety of disputes involving business issues. He has been involved in cases regarding partnership dissolutions, breach of contract, business transaction fraud claims, forced receivership actions, consumer law claims, commercial leases and franchise agreements; and defalcation matters.

Michael handled litigation involving election law issues, environmental abatement issues, RICO actions, personal injury, and misdemeanor criminal actions, and represents lawyers in professional liability/legal malpractice matters.
