Alexander C. Karcher
Alex Karcher is an associate attorney with LUPER NEIDENTHAL & LOGAN in the Transportation and Litigation practice groups. As a member of the Transportation practice group, Alex represents a full range of clients including motor carriers, shippers, freight brokers/3PL, freight forwarders, warehousing operations, motor coach and bus companies. A key part of his representation involves advising clients on transportation and logistics issues and regulatory compliance, particularly through collaboration with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to ensure carriers maintain a quality Safety Measurement System (SMS) record. Alex regularly represents CDL holders in Court on traffic violation matters to protect not only their safety record but also their ability to maintain CDL certification. Additionally, Alex has extensive experience working with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) and other state agencies regarding Ohio dealer licensing, regulations and compliance. As part of the firm’s Litigation group, Alex primarily litigates shipping disputes on behalf of the firm’s transportation clients at both the state and federal level. Our Transportation Department has successfully handled disputes involving damaged cargo, the Carmack Amendment, insurance coverage, contract law, liability of brokers/shippers, and regulatory compliance. Alex is a vital part of those efforts.
Alex received his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where he was Staff Editor of The Ohio State University Journal of Criminal of Law.
